Jon Peterson, President

Jon Peterson is the President and founder of Peterson Economics. During the past 14 years, he has completed more than 400 major consulting assignments in North America, Hawaii, Australia, and the Caribbean. These have included a wide variety of complex resort, fractional, golf, real estate, lodging, retail and other assignments. Mr. Peterson has worked on projects in more than 35 states in the U.S., as well as several foreign countries.

Prior to forming Peterson Economics, Mr. Peterson was a Principal at Economics Research Associates. Since forming Peterson Economics, Mr. Peterson has completed more than 200 major consulting assignments, including detailed market and financial analyses for 100 of the largest and most complex new resorts and master-planned communities proposed in North America.

For six years, Mr. Peterson served as the primary real estate economist advising the developers of Suncadia, one of the largest and most complex destination resort communities being developed anywhere in North America. This project is now under construction, with over 500 lots sold in 2004 alone.

Mr. Peterson has also played important roles in new resorts in various stages of planning, development, and completion in Hawaii, elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest, California, the Rockies, the Northeast, the Mid-Atlantic, the South, and Mexico. Combined, these resorts generate over $1 billion in real estate sales each year.

Mr. Peterson now regularly serves as a development advisor to Morgan Stanley, Olympus Real Estate, Lowe Enterprises, Jeld-Wen, Centex Destination Properties, and many other prominent development firms.

Mr. Peterson graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College, with a B.A. in geography modified with environmental studies. Mr. Peterson then earned an M.S. in economic geography from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to spending nine years at Economics Research Associates, Mr. Peterson served as a regional manager for the U.S. Census Bureau on Maui during the 1990 Census, and taught at Penn State University and Seabury Hall on Maui.
